Cobra Motor Swap

Here are my instructions (with illustrated pictures) for swapping the stock GT motor with a Cobra motor. The procedure covers the wiring and the connectors associated with the conversion. Click the image to download the PDF version of the file (about 1 meg)

2000 Laser Red Mustang GT Specifications

• Premium package GT 5 speed
• 2001 Cobra crate engine run by the stock GT ECU with a JMS chip
• Modified Cobra engine wiring harness
• Canton road race T-pan (9 quart capacity)
• JBA shorty headers and MAC Prochamber H-Pipe with Dynomax welded Ultraflows
• Custom Stan's Headers 2.5" catback exhaust
• S&B Powerstack 9" air filter (K&N) assembly with Densecharger 100mm upper intake
• Steeda under drive pulleys and Triax shifter
• Spec stage 1 clutch assembly and lightened billet steel flywheel assembly
• American Racing TT II wheels; 17" x 11" rear and 17" x 8" front with 315/35 and 245/45 Goodyear GS C Eagle tires

1967 Mustang Fastback Specifications

• Original color is Vintage Burgundy
• '68 302 block bored 0.030" over
• Stock crank - polished and chamfered
• Stock early rods, polished beams and ARP rod bolts
• 12:1 TRW forged pop up pistons (around 11:1 with 60cc chamber and 351 heads)
• Balanced rotating assembly
• '70 351W heads with screw-in studs and guide plates; Crane double valve springs held on with ARP head studs
• Competition Cams 280 Magnum hydraulic cam; Crane anti pump lifters and roller rockers Ford Motorsport pushrods and double roller timing chain set
• Weiand X-CELerator intake with a Holley 650 double pumper
• MSD billet distributor with Jacobs box and Ultra coil with Taylor wires
